Restless leg syndrome

Restless leg syndrome is a type of sleep movement disorder. It is also known as Willis-Ekbom disease, and it creates an unpleasant sensation and an urge to move the legs when trying to sleep. It typically happens in the daytime or nighttime hours when you're sitting or lying down.


The major symptoms included in restless leg syndrome are:

  •  Sensations that begin while resting
  •  Relief with movement
  •  Worsening symptoms in the daytime
  •  Nighttime leg twitching
